Shopping for gears

Alright.....

Here is something I like to look at. When I shop for gears I like to look at place like zzounds musician friends sameday music 123music. Those online shop are expert in shipping they have the right gears and descent prices. You can get all the great name brands gears at a great price and I am almost certain you will be happy. That is if you have the dough for it because even at a great price it is a lot of dough. Even if most (if not all) of them have free shipping for purchase over 200 $.

That is all good if you are in the US. If you are in Canada you can only buy certain things. If you are in Quebec you are SOL. They wont ship to Quebec because of some obscure custom reglementation. It is boddersome because all the candian shop are more than over priced. I dont even bodder to look at steve music and axx.ca and others in Canada, their prices just piss me off ( Scuse my french. I am actually french canadian ;) ) .

There is one shop that does ship in canada and in any other country with the custom fees included and that is Rondo Music. I got a great axe with a floyd rose and a nice case shipped
custom fees included for 226 US $.......266 $ in CAD.

WHAT ??? Are you Seeerious DUDE ???

YEAH I'm serious.... Even at musician friend.com you can't touch a scratcher with a floyd bellow 350 $ with no case. In 1950 the original price of a Telecaster was... 125 $ Today if you want a
good on you have to pile up 1000 $.

Now look at this guy. French from france he got it shipped from Rondo to france. He made the modif and tune up to a SX SJM 62. And I am sorry but......He play so cool and smooth that I want one now.

Just click on the right the Rondomusic jpeg and buy now before they figure out what they sell is gold. You'll thank me later.

Till next time.

May the force be with you.

Douglas SI-13 3TS with floyd reviews

It's sunday and rainy outside, what else to do but to practice a few licks on guitar.
Well if you are a beginner young and in short of dough and can't get the latest Gibson LP
or Fender strat or even any of the jackson and all the high end copies out there, here is a tip for you. You can get a great guitar anyway. It will involve a bit of work but, what guitar dont (even the best dont come with such a great tune up adapted to what YOU like or will like). Look at the bottm of that page. You will find the douglas SI-13 3TS with floyd rose bridge. It is a lefty but I will find the right one and post it soon. These can be found also at rondomusic.com.

Why do I rave about this one ??? Because I bought it !!!

Now for the price you will say this is a cheapo that wont do anything for me.
Wrong. the guitar is made of palamino and has a great tune. It is great for beginner because
it is cheap and you can experiment a lot with it.

But out of the box it is already fine. Lets face it....Where will you find something with a floyd rose bellow 300 $ ? Douglas guitars dont have the best pick ups and tuners but they are fine and payable out of the box..And stay in tunes. Now you will get buzing out of it but that can be fix and I`ll tell you how later on this blog.

As for the floyd rose it is a licensed one. And works fine too. The floyd rose bridge can be a monster to tune up but..... If you figure it out, no other bridge will scare you EVER !!! There is a big advantage about this bridge. It does lock the strings at each extremities keeping your instrument in tune for a long time, just for that it is worth the price. I will talk about it later too in this blog and there is many other help link about it. It is very well documented. The douglas SI-13 3TS has everything to appeal the beginner and intermediary and I saw some people that would even gig with it after they modified it for stage play. The finnish on it is perfect also.

To everyone I showed this guitar they could not believe the price for the the quality.
At that price you can even start to collect different type of guitars, and feel like a rock
star at home for a fraction of the price.

One last thing I will mention on this is that those guitar one made out of korea
and china. BUT...... the quality if the materials is really superior of most of the things
you will find our there and at the price they are you can afford to try one and use it as a platform to modify them at you own convinience. I would not dare to do that with a true gibson LP.

Til next time

May the force be with you

Second post

Hello out there, you bunch of shredder.

Alright after the introduction you know a bit more about why I making this blog.
I want you not to feel stupid about not knowing something. (Like I did so many times)

And I would like to strike you interest about playing. When I started there was NO
INTERNET !!!. I was living in the north of Quebec where there WAS NOTHING
to do hehehe. there was no guitar teacher so I learned PIANO. For seven years
I had piano lesson. I hated them. I wanted to play guitar. But... what it did was it
DID develop my hear for music. As much as I hated to get up in the morning and
practice before to go to school I learned something out of it. I got an ear for music.

So when I bought my first guitar (which was a coll flying V white with a tunomatic
rosewood neck) I did find out that I could ear and play VERY easily. But I had no idea
how to properly setup my gear. So I always played with a disfunctionnal guitar.
I lost interest until one friend of mine who was an awsome player showed me how
to tune, how to do harmonics etc etc. another world openned to me. My gear was
my friend now. We were a team. My flying V was my girl friend. Well sorta....
hehehe.
Today you young new guitar head banger have the internet. How I wish I had
such in my time. I would have advanced to much faster in my learnings.

On this blog I did put link to thing you SHOULD look at today for you own
benefit as a new or intermediary player . You dont know how lucky you are
today to have this great tool that is call the internet. I repeat myself but it is
true.

Next blog post I'll tell you about gears what I tryed and what I think about it
and much more. Maybe you will think it will be for you maybe not. But at least you
will have a clear opinion about a certain gear that you want or not. and that is the most important here. The way you feel about your gear.

Until next time
May the force be with you (I'm such a geek)

Here's begins Remi guitar world

Alright.....Here I am. The average 42 years old guy, who have lived, worked, loved, cryed (I'm a woossie during sad movie). I fell down again and again got up again and again. And regarding behind me I see one things that has been constant in my life. And that is....My interest in guitars.

Now I am by no means an expert about the thing. But I learned a bunch by myself.
And that is the only way I could learn what I know about this because most of guitarist
are lone wolf. They dont share everything they know. Well I am not that type of guy.

Have you ever been to a musical shop and felt like you are juged because of your
choice of instrument or pedal or string. I am not pulling your legs most of those guys
in shops will look at you and judge you right away and even almost laugh at you.

Last week I went to get some strings for a new guitar. Now it`s been a while since I played
and one of the thing that is most important when you play guitar is to have callis on the tip
of your finger. Well you accumulate that by playing. what I like to do is to get some little strings first when I havent been playing for a while because that way I build callis gradually and ease the pain it cause to play without callis. Sooooooooo....to make a long story short I order a set of
0.08 set of string and this guy behind the counter tells to me in his most condesending voice "Geeze you must not pick hard to get such LITTLE strings".

I am all surprised by his tone. but I answer quickly "Do you want to sell them to me or should I go to the other shop ??". Seeing that I was in no mood for his BS (scuse my french !!), he quickly answered me back properly and I got what I want. But this did put me in a bad mood.

I came back home installed the strings tuned up this new guitar and started to play.
My mood became better almost instantly. Why should I get affected by this guy remark.
Why should anyone go through things like this ? Well I decided to do something about it now.
Here is my blog about guitars. It's about what I know, I give it freely and it will be about what
I keep learning about it. So this blog is for the beginner-intermediary guitarist. It is for you DUDE !!

So sit tight hold you hat on it`s gonna be fun.
